Indoor Yoga Napping Lesson with Oreo

Furstly. Find a very high place for your nap, such as on top of the kitchen cupboards, purrfurr-ably the cupboard above refrigerator, or purr haps the frigerator if your kitchen cupboards go all the way to the ceiling.
Secondly, Get in a nice good, long stretch of your back legs.
Third Step. Check your limberness and munch on a few fleas if they are bothering your technique.
And then, Voila! The yoga-ness pose that will have your pawrents and other humans wondering, Hey, how you do that?
Finally... one last peek at the world below, before off to lovely dreamland of the happy, cared for, indoor cat.

I hope you liked your yoga napping lesson and can find a way to try it at your home.  I am furry thankful that I found Mom Katie last winter. I am furry loved and not abandoned no more. I could never try this restful yoga technique outdoors.

Mom shared my new long name with me today. Katie Mom always gives her furever kitty kids a long 3 name and a nickname.  Such as Lil Bear's long name am Benjamin Lil Bear, but every human call him Bear. I could call him Bear, since I talk Engrish, but my nickname for Bear am "squeaky," in cat mews that is. Bear cant talk Engrish. Him use whiney squeak to get Mom's attention. Very annoying sometimes.

Katie Mom thought of calling me Happy Oreo Cookie, but I not good at cooking, although I do like checking out the stove smells. If you look closely, does my cute face remind you of a funny human who went over the Rainbow Bridge? Mom said my furever long name am now Oreo Robin William. But you can calls me Orie.

And like Brian of Brian's Home Says, Adopt Cats! We needs and Deserves you! More Furever Homes More Often! (Concats on the 2,000th post last week, Brian!)

Purrz Furever,
Oreo Robin William

Neverland Nevermore Forever Robin

( Robin Williams passed away yesterday. There am no words.
Katiez Furry Mewz normal blogging has been suspended while Katie Mom grieves.)

Robin Williams (1951-2014) Tribute

“Why can’t we treat death with a certain amount of humanity and decency and God forbid, even humour?” - Robin Williams, Patch Adams

Robin loved animals, especially dogs.

With Richard Belzer's dog, Bebe on the Law and Order SVU set... Celebrity Dog Watch has an article (2007) about Belzer, Bebe and Williams hanging out together. While Williams held Bebe, the actors played a joke. They told a photographer that Bebe was Robin Williams' dog Pepe. (Photo missing from website... thought I had a copy - can't find it)

On Instagram, Robin Williams shared his dog pals, Leonard, Willie B and Lou Ella.

He also had a labrador dog named Spinee at some point that underwent surgery, but haven't found photos of Spinee nor details of the surgery.

Williams is survived by his wife, Susan Schenider, three children, Zachary, 31, Zelda, 25, Cody, 23 and his dogs, Leonard, Willie B and Lou Ella.  Please keep the family in your purrz...  -Katie.

Toby Vet Visit, Star Fish and Monday Mewviez

Hello furry friends...Toby here.  Remember how I gots my tail slammed on and had to get the tip amputated? That happened back in April.  You can reads story here: Toby's Tail.

Well my tail am been bothering me somthin terrible since surgery. The end am bin hurting and twitching on its own... I tried chasing my tail every day to make it mind, but that not help at all... I even tried chewing fur on my back, but that just made a mess.

So Auntie Katie and Dad Mike tooks me to the vet on Saturday.  The vet purr-scribed a neural pain reliever called gabapentin. (and shaved my messy furs) Auntie Katie gave me my first dose Saturday night and wow! My tail started behaving again!  I hads the bestest sleep!  I had another one last night.  The vet said pills are furry safe and I can has up to three doses a day if needed.  I may has to take this stuff likes furever... but if my tail behaves and nots bother me no more, then taking pills be worth it... besides they has nice flavor.

Now for Monday Mewvies. Auntie Katie found furry inspurrational mewvie bouts a guy helping others and no approval from anyones fur doing dat... him gets a different reward... Please watch. It am furry goods. (Subtitles in English -K)

You Can Be A Hero, Too

That's how Auntie Katie feels about helping us cats and sharing cats who need rescued, even if no one commented yesterday. Her would helps all the same.  Like the story about saving starfish. There am several versions adapted from The Star Thrower by Loren C. Eiseley.

One day an old man was walking along the beach. The low tide had filled the beach with thousands of stranded starfish, carried in by the sea and left behind.

He walked very carefully so not to step on the beautiful creatures. Since the starfish seemed to still be alive, the old man thought about picking up a few and returning them back to the water where they could resume their lives. He knew the starfish would die if left on the beach's dry sand. Yet, he couldn't possibly help them all, so he chose to do nothing and continued walking.

Soon afterward, the man came upon a young girl on the beach frantically throwing one starfish after another back into the sea. The old man stopped and asked the child, "What are you doing?"
"I'm saving the starfish," she replied.

"Stop wasting your time. There are too many! Your efforts won't matter. You can't save them all," argued the man. "You can’t even begin to make a difference."

Without hesitation, the child picked up another starfish and tossed the starfish back into the water... "I can make a difference for this one."

The old man left and went home, deep in thought of what the young girl had said. The next morning, he returned to the beach and spent the day helping her throw starfish back in the sea.

No matter what... you can always makes a difference. One kitty (starfish) at a time.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 07/26/2014 from NY 10031, owner surrender reason stated was PERSONAL PROB.

BEHAVIOR Simba's owners "play fight" with him, roughly petting his stomach while he rolls around on the floor. He holds onto their hands and sometimes scratches them in the process. Scratches furniture (couch, bed). He had a vertical carpeted scratching post but didn't use it. Scratches people during play. Simba enjoys being brushed, picked up, and held. He isn't bothered by being put in a carrier. He meows/cries while his nails are trimmed but doesn't struggle. He scratches during baths but eventually allows it and stops struggling. Meows in the car. Simba came here in a box, poking his head out. He allowed me to pick him up, collar and scan him, and put him in a box without any resistance or vocalization.
